In partnership with the Central Government of Panamá, CitySourced has launched a new smartphone application which allows residents to identify and report non-emergency civic issues, such as public works, quality of life, and environmental issues. As an innovator in the region, Panama is the only Latin American country to offer a single, centralized point of contact for residents. The mobile app builds on this tradition and will serve over 3.6M residents country-wide.

As the only mobile service request product to offer completely native mobile apps across all major platforms, the residents will have access to the app on iOS, Android, Windows Phone, and BlackBerry. In addition, the app is completely localized to Spanish, English and the other languages spoken locally.

Until now, residents could complain calling 311 or using the web. Now, we are the only Latin American country centralized to a single point of contact (with 88 institutions incorporated into the system) that’s responsive (97% satisfactory completion rate) and is now accessible via App for the citizen to receive status updates and government news automatically, as well as provide better data like geo-location and media to the government. – Rodolfo Caballero Rivera, National Director of Citizen Service/311 Center

Using ’311 MÓVIL’ (Mobile 311) allows the city to use technology to save time and money, while improving accountability. All new issues generated by the app are automatically routed to Microsoft Dynamics CRM already in use to track service requests. In addition, the application verifies that the item being reported is within the city boundaries. If there is a graffiti report, for instance, outside the city boundaries, the GPS tracking service from the device the sender is using will identify the location of the issue being reported and notify the sender.

‘Movil 311′ app allows a user to capture a photo, video, or audio of the problem. The user then uploads the media and, along with GPS location information pulled directly from the device, submits a report directly to the appropriate department. Once a report is submitted, feedback is provided to the user based on the action taken by the department handling the report.

And for our Spanish speaking readers, check out this video from the major news network highlighting the launch of 311 Movil.

I have been committed to using innovation and technology to decrease costs, increase efficiency, and provide citizens with greater access to their government.
The Omaha Mobile App provides a simple and intuitive platform empowering residents to identify civic issues (public safety, quality of life, environmental issues, etc.) and report them to City Hall for quick resolution.

The city of Peoria launched a new Smartphone application which allows citizens to identify and report non-emergency civic issues, such as public works, quality of life, and environmental issues. This mobile reporting platform will improve how Peoria delivers services to its neighborhoods.

PeoriaAz Civic Reporter allows a user to capture a photo, video, or audio of the problem. The user then uploads the media and, along with GPS location information pulled directly from the device, submits a report directly to the city’s appropriate department. Once a report is submitted, feedback is provided to the user based on the action taken by the department handling the report.

Civic Reporter helps us be smarter, faster and better in how we manage citizen reports and fix problems. This application lets us see what the resident sees and gives us an exact location. We will know immediately how to respond to the issue. – Director of Public Works-Utilities, Bill Mattingly

Using PeoriaAz Civic Reporter allows the city to use technology to save time and money, while improving accountability to Peoria citizens. In addition, the application verifies that the item being reported is within the city boundaries. If there is a pothole, for instance, outside the city boundaries, the GPS tracking service from the device the sender is using will identify the location of the issue being reported and notify the sender.

We are using an application which was tailored for the needs of the City of Peoria by the CitySourced organization. Peoria is surrounded by other cities with boundaries that are not always obvious to residents and visitors, so we needed a tool which would allow us to be specific about issues affecting only Peoria. The PeoriaAZ Civic Reporter will allow us to do that, using GIS maps provided by the City of Peoria’s IT GIS group and married up with the technology that CitySourced provides. - Chief Technology Officer, John Imig

The application is an efficient way to report nuisances, dangerous roads, and broken traffic lights, as well as many other items the city can address. The app does tell you that if you have a real emergency, you should call 911 and will prompt you to do so with a button.

Cedar Park Mayor Matt Powell, a longtime proponent of leveraging the latest technology for City government to improve citizens’ lives, says,

We have long been looking for a way to make it even easier for our citizens to report problems and to have them fixed fast, and I really think that CP Connect does a great job of doing that. We’re really excited about it.

The city of Railto, CA launched a new Smartphone application which allows citizens to identify and report non-emergency civic issues.

The city of Railto, CA launched a new Smartphone application which allows citizens to identify and report non-emergency civic issues, such as public works, quality of life, and environmental issues. This mobile reporting platform will improve how Rialto delivers services to its neighborhoods.

‘Rialto CA iTip!’ allows a user to capture a photo, video, or audio of the problem. The user then uploads the media and, along with GPS location information pulled directly from the device, submits a report directly to the appropriate department. Once a report is submitted, feedback is provided to the user based on the action taken by the department handling the report.

Using ‘Rialto CA iTip!’ allows the city to use technology to save time and money, while improving accountability. In addition, the application verifies that the item being reported is within the city boundaries. If there is a pothole, for instance, outside the city boundaries, the GPS tracking service from the device the sender is using will identify the location of the issue being reported and notify the sender.

Kamloops, BC – The City of Kamloops is excited to announce the launch of its first mobile application with the new “myKamloops” app. This free app, developed by CitySourced, is intended to act as a Report A Problem channel, allowing residents to report civic issues of concern, whether it be graffiti, potholes, fallen trees, overflowing garbage cans, obscured or fallen signs, or any similar issue.

While this new app does not replace the current methods of reporting a problem via the phone, email or website, it does allow people to report issues quickly and conveniently using their Smartphone, including iPhones, Androids, Blackberries and Windows Mobile. Smartphone capabilities allow for residents to report issues via a photo or video, geo-tag it, and submit it to the City very quickly. The issue is then routed to the appropriate City department for resolution.
